Sounds like Thrill Jockey stuff, but played by drunks, maybe? And recorded on a boom box. In a garage. But it's awesome, so suck it. Alright.

Whoa. It's been a while again, hasn't it? Whatever. I'm not sure how many people out there are still even paying attention. Good thing I don't give a shit, eh?

This is the 26th HOMES release from Clear Days Always. Levi says: "The first stuff I ever recorded in Grand Rapids, Michigan. New life with Brandy. You can tell I'm getting a little better at recording, and trying some new things. Towards the end of the "album" there's some stuff with the Electribe that's nice. There's some really nice guitar stuff, fun keyboard stuff, a whole bunch of goofball fucking-around, and some noisy nasty stuff. The noise is starting to bug me. I'm getting older, and my ears are starting to bother me a bit after all the years of thinking I was cool pressing my face against my guitar cabinet onstage. When the squeaky-crazy-noisy parts of these tracks pop up suddenly, I find them totally annoying and pointless. I know that was probably the point, but it still kinda pisses me off. Maybe I'm just getting lame, forgetting how fun stuff can be. I don't know. I'm not here to erase history, though. I'm just trying to archive all this shit. Listen to it or don't. Believe me: I won't blame you for just walking away."

Yeah. Walk away. It's a free download, but you still probably don't give a shit enough to download it and try to listen to it. We seriously can't blame you. There's so much fucking music in the world. You just have to know how to use the internet and you can download millions of fucking songs you'll never listen to. Most music is really shitty. So...if you're making the music, what do you do? It's hard to make stuff and then keep it to yourself. It feels like chaining a child up in the basement. So you put it out. Do you release it for free on your website? Get it up iTunes to make it "official"? Press vinyl? Dupe CDs? Cassettes (to be "cool"...even "cooler" than vinyl)? Do you spend a lot of time composing great music, or do you just record yourself jacking off? Are you cool enough to get signed? Do you want to be in a van, in a shitty bar, drunk, sad? I really don't know what the fuck's going on here anymore.
